How Ohio got here
Ohio has not carried out an execution since 2018 and its lethal-injection supply chain has collapsed. Nitrogen-hypoxia bills have been introduced in successive General Assemblies to bridge the gap. None has reached a floor vote. The Lee injunction has, at least for now, frozen further movement.
